Beauvais airport: what nobody tells you before landing

BVA is marketed as Paris. It is 85 km away. Here is how to plan around that honestly.
Beauvais-Tillé serves low-cost carriers under the name *Paris Beauvais*, and the gap between that name and the geography catches out a lot of travellers.
The airport is 85 km north of Paris. The official shuttle bus runs to Porte Maillot, takes about 75 minutes in good traffic, and costs around €16.90 — but it only departs after the last passenger clears baggage, so a delayed flight means a long wait on the forecourt.
The last shuttle connects with the last arrival, which can put you at Porte Maillot near midnight with the metro closing. If you land after 22:30 and your hotel is not near Porte Maillot, plan the final leg before you fly.
A private transfer from BVA costs more than the shuttle, but it leaves when you land, takes you to your actual address, and does not care that your flight was two hours late. For late arrivals, groups, or anyone continuing to Disneyland, it is usually the difference between arriving tired and arriving stranded.
